A fabulous Hen-do idea… a day at the races photo shoot!
It was a real pleasure to meet Andrea and Ryan and find out about their big day. Andrea was beautiful inside and out and I knew we were going to get some great pictures! The ceremony was held at Holy Infants & St Anthonys church in Astley Bridge, Bolton where the priest was extremely welcoming. We then drove the short journey to the Last Drop Village hotel. The hotel is a unique wedding venue with neat gardens and fountain at the front and old fashioned black and white style buildings in the centre. At the back are beautiful wild fields which gave the venue so much scope for fabulous photos just before the bride and groom joined their guests for their wedding meal. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Stringer, we hope your day was everything you dreamed of!
After meeting bridal and occasion headwear designer Katy Proud in a toddler group at my church a few months ago I finally convinced her to have a professional photo shoot and show off her wonderful designs. With the help of her lovely sister and friends Laura, Helen and Verity these are the results. Katy began designing ten years ago with her own wedding. She had a vision of what she wanted for her bridesmaid’s hair but nothing on the market matched up. Pieces were either too traditional, too formal, too understated or too glitzy – nothing was quite right. So Katy made them herself and then went on to create her own range inspired by flowers and using French beaded flower techniques. Katy believes hairpieces are about individuality, making a statement about your own sense of style. From the dramatic and spectacular with sparkle and crystals to add that wow factor, or the more subtle and delicate with Swarovski pearls for just a touch of understated glamour. I hope you are inspired by some of her creations here. Please contact Katy at firstname.lastname@example.org
Megan and Evan’s wedding at Mitton Hall was the first one we had photographed in the newly refurbished reception room which we found to be a vast improvement even though the old layout was lovely too. As the meal was served the sun was setting behind the top table and lots of light flooded in through the windows and skylight. The meal itself was done slightly different with speeches before and during, with musical entertainment by professional singer Paul Guard which created a wonderful atmosphere. Enjoy part two of Megan and Evans fabulous day at Mitton Hall.
A few weeks ago we met up with Helen and Darren at Fletcher Moss park in Didsbury, Manchester to do some engagement / wedding practise photography… and Suz and I might have stopped for a cheeky cocktail in the village before heading back home! Congratulations guys and we look forward to your beautiful wedding day later on this year. xx
I knew this wedding was going to be amazing from the minute I met Marsha. She had the whole Carrie Bradshaw thing going on (with a vintage twist) and she had already bought an original dress from our friends at Vintage lane Boutique. Finally she had booked Alison McMath of Kitty Wink Vintage to style her hair and make-up so I knew the styling would be second to none. This was our first trip to Astley hall in Chorley, Lancashire and I had never been in the Hall before so was overwhelmed with how beautiful it is. The grounds are also picturesque with a lake, swans and a walled garden. I decided to photograph the bride and groom in the wild flowers at the back of the Hall. This was the first year Astley hall had grown them and they looked perfect with Marsha and Doug’s vintage wedding. This is the first part of their beautiful day.
