Manchester Engagement | Caroline & Ash

Manchester wedding photographer

Caroline was the first person Ash met when he arrived at the Halls of Residence at the University of Sunderland. Years later in September 2013 he took Caroline on a surprise holiday to Italy. They visited Rome, Venice, Florence, Naples and Ischia. While in Venice they visited St Mark’s Basilica and Ash insisted they went up to the rooftop view point which overlooks St Mark’s Square and the Adriatic Sea, it was there that he proposed… a completely unexpected, romantic and precious moment. On the day of the photo shoot (25th October) Caroline shared it was their 7 year anniversary and exactly 6 months until they get married. The photo shoot was so much fun and we took loads of pictures in different locations of the park. Ash told me he loves photos and he can return from a holiday with literally thousands of images! we cannot wait for their wedding next year. Ash is of Indian origin but born in Nairobi, Kenya, he has family all over the world. Their wedding day will be a fantastic fusion of different cultures and traditions… and so the count down begins!

Cheshire Engagement | Fiona & Chris

It was great to meet up with Fiona and Chris at Culcheth Linear park in Cheshire for their engagement photos. Turns out we know some of the same people (small world). Gorgeous Jasper the dog joined us for the shoot and was an absolute star! The couple met at work four years ago and Chris proposed on New Year’s Eve, he was going to wait just before midnight as he had promised Fiona at the start of 2013 that he would propose (talk about leaving it last minute!) Anyway he ended up doing it about 11pm because Fiona had gone to bed early! I love stories like this.. the romance and normality of life. I guess that all that matters  is that you find your soul mate and everything else just falls into place. xx

Rainy day wedding photography

Don’t worry if it rains …

Rain on your wedding day isn’t what any bride wishes for but something happened this September that changed my outlook forever. I used to dread the weather forecast and worry about where to photograph the family groups and how to get the bride quickly from one location to an other without wetting her dress, but then I met Lauren and Stephen and I knew they were going to have fun whatever the weather. As part of the rustic chic country themed day we had arranged to see Lauren’s beautiful donkey at a field near the wedding venue and we still managed to do this in the rain with a little help from the bride and groom’s driver & lots of brollies! I think the key to weddings where is rains all day is to be flexible, prepare to have pictures at unusual times, choose a venue that works just as good inside as well as outside and find a photographer you trust to make the right decisions. Lauren & Ste really trusted us even to the point of me putting her in a muddy field in her wedding dress! But we knew Lauren would treasure these memories forever so it was well worth it. Here’s a few images from their fantastic day…

Ashton Memorial Wedding photography Lancaster | Pamela & Max

The weather was absolutely perfect to photograph my dream wedding at the Ashton Memorial in Lancaster’s Williamson park. Pamela and Max’s wedding day was packed so full of beautiful little memories and loveliness, that I have split the blog into three parts. This is part one which begins at the award winning Ashton B&B full of quirky little details. The special day was truly an international affair with guests from around the world. The couple met in Sydney, live in London, then travelled up north to say their vows in Max’s home town of Lancaster. We had the opportunity to photograph the couple in Lancaster’s Butterfly House and stay on to the wedding reception. Suzanne and I feel so privileged to be able to record this part of your journey together, congratulations Pam and Max! xx

Rustic country wedding Bury | Lauren & Ste

So here is part two of Lauren and Stephen’s rustic country wedding at The Bolholt Hotel in Bury. (I’ve blogged this in a vintage tint which I think suits the theme perfectly.) After a beautiful wedding ceremony everyone headed over to the Bolholt for drinks and speeches before the evening party began to celebrate these gorgeous newlyweds!
