Last month we found ourselves in Muswell Hill, London for an engagement shoot at Alexandra Palace. It was great catching up with Guy and Lesley’s wedding plans over cocktails and taking some shots as the sun set over the city. This location is really special to the both of them as it’s where Guy proposed. He hoped to surprise Lesley so, one Friday evening after getting home from work, he suggested to her that they make the most of the weather forecast by going up to Alexandra Palace Park for a picnic on the Satursday (midsummer’s eve). As Lesley was on crutches following a major knee operation, they drove up to the park and found a beautiful spot in front of the palace, with a magnificent view of London stretching out before them.
Not all went to plan, as the great weather meant that the park was crowded, leaving little privacy for popping the question! They stayed until the sun began to go down, at which point he told Lesley to stay at their picnic spot while he returned the hamper and rug to the car. When he came back they embarked on a (short) walk and (thankfully!) soon came to a secluded spot where Guy asked Lesley to be his bride.
