3 years ago I was privileged to photograph my gorgeous friend Esther’s wedding to Andrew at St. Pauls Cathedral in London. The day was elegant and beautiful as you can imagine. On Sunday the 4th of Dec 2011 she decided to try the dress on again in the Lakes.. .and of course it fit like a glove!

Esther loved her dress, like any bride does.  All the memories and hope it holds in its layers of tule and lace. All the time and emotions invested in finding it and the joy it brings when you know it’s ‘the one’ and how it captivated everyone’s attention. But once the day is over… what do you do with it, and can you actually wear it again? The most precious item, whether is cost a little or a lot is now wrapped up in a box.

We decided to just have some fun in the snow frosted fields in Windermere the Lake District and Suzanne accessorised with hats and scarves, wellies and whatever she could find. Some of the things were from my own wedding that I forgot to use like the top hat and old camera. Thanks Esther for such a wonderful day and for braving the freezing cold weather! x

Why didn’t I wear a feather hat at my wedding?!? Thank you dear Cat and Suz for a wonderful, fun, freezing, lovely day. Great hats, great pictures. You are amazing xx

  2. Esther, Cat and Suz,

It is just fascinating outcome of your hyper-creative day. I remember you, Esther, we met for the first time at AMM in 2002. You were a teenager at the time, now – look at you, a beautiful woman with a husband.

I particularly love the photos with the old camera, also the one with the feather hat. Unbelievably well done.

Your work, Cat and Suz, is a good work.
