Pre wedding photography at Haigh Hall
So the rain finally stopped and I was able to meet up with Alice and James for their pre wedding / engagement photos. I hadn’t taken pictures in Haigh Hall’s walled gardens for many years, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to check it out again. Alice had her wedding make-up trial just before the shoot, and I thoroughly recommend this to all brides as a trial run. She can then see if it needs to be lighter or darker on the wedding day. In Alice’s case it looked perfect. To help Brides with make-up advice and styling I have started to document my magazine shoots & editorial images with stylist Alison McMath. Here’s the link to the first behind the scenes make-up blog in this series.
Long distance love
I’m so excited for James and Alice’s wedding… they were so natural in front of the camera and hope these pictures remind them of a sunny day in April just before they became husband and wife. This is some of their story by Alice… We met each other in 2008 when we were both 18 years old through mutual friends and used to spend weekends going to our local night-club as a group. At the time we were both with other people but soon after when we turned 19 it quickly came to light that we liked each other. James (eventually!) took me on a date and as they say, the rest is history!
Just before we got together I had applied and got a place at The University of Nottingham to train to become a children’s nurse, so six months after we got together our long-distance relationship began, with James still living in Scarisbrick. We would take it in turns to spend weekends together and as soon as I finished my training (3 years later) I got a job in Nottingham and he relocated to live with me. We have recently bought our own house together in Matlock and we love it so much! We have been together 6 years in total and as cheesy as it sounds, we have grown and matured together and become the best of friends.
