Have you ever been passionate about something your whole life? My love of pictures started as a child and as soon as I could work I had a Saturday job at Jessops which I loved. The wonderful Mr Bertwistle interviewed me and asked me what an SLR was. I looked vacantly back at him and he said I had the job.. phew! On the train to the Preston branch one day I said “good morning” to an older, eccentric and slightly intimidating gentleman who sat down next to me and said “so what do you do?”. ‘I’m a fashion photographer’ I said, “oh are you?”, “sort of” I replied. “Well I’m the editor of Cheshire Life”. My jaw dropped as I imagined someday creating a fashion feature for an actual magazine. “Well keep believing in yourself” he said before going on his way. I never thought any more of it, but it’s true that some moments are etched in your memory always. Sixteen busy years later I get the call, and shoot my first fashion feature for the Life Magazines. Sometimes your dreams are right in front of you and others are years away, and you almost forgot you had them. Yet they are still there growing in secret until the time is right, the place is right and you end up having more fun than you ever imagined.
