Lancashire wedding Photography
When a fellow photographer books you for their wedding photos, you know its going to be good! Nikki & Dean tied the knot in Gretna Green and a few days later had an amazing wedding party back at home in Bolton, Lancashire. Below are the couple pictures we created together at Leverhulme Park. It was such a great experience to be able to whisk a bride & groom away for a moment without the pressure of the usual wedding schedule! I hope the photographs capture something of their absolute devotion to each other. I asked Nikki to write a few words about their story….
Dean and I met via Facebook when we became friends through mutual friends, we started to date and were together for a couple years then mutually decided that it was ‘the right person at the wrong time in our lives’ and went our separate ways, to which we accidentally bumped into each other again a year later and it was as if we had never parted. Dean proposed in a garden tavern surrounded by pink blossom, in Crete, Greece, on a family holiday (my favourite place, and funnily enough our honeymoon destination) and we decided to get married in 2015.
We wanted a small quiet wedding with immediate family but two of the most influential people in our lives sadly passed away just months before our big day. Both Dean’s nan and my nana, but they were as much a part of the wedding as they were going to be even if they were watching from above, we wanted a small wedding so we could ensure we could spend as much time together on our first day as man and wife without the hassle of greeting guests…. I love all things vintage so a vintage wedding was definitely the theme from the start, I wanted to keep it as personal and unique as possible, so I went back to my artistic routes and made as much as I could by myself, flowers, guestbook, signs, favours ect…. We decided to then organise a party for when we returned from Gretna green, so we could celebrate our marriage with the rest of our family and friends…. To which we would show our wedding day on a projector screen for everyone to see and be a part of our day….
My wedding dress was Ronald Joyce, and the veil was a Disney Snow White veil from their range at Bridal Couture Italia, the wedding cake was from Occasion Cakes I got some inspiration from Pinterest but I didn’t want to read or look at too many other weddings as I wanted to make ours unique with a vintage and fun theme. Me and dean will never take life too seriously!! This time it was definitely the right person at the right time!! Xx
